May Madness Round 1 Begins at Texas!
The bracket is set. The matchups are locked.
May Madness officially gets underway next Tuesday at Texas Motor Speedway, and the pressure starts immediately. Sixteen drivers enter, but only eight will move on.
It’s simple.
Heads up. Beat your opponent and advance. Lose, and your run is over.
Round of 16 Matchups
(1) Andy Warren vs (16) Jordan Morris
(8) Ryan Strunk vs (9) Jim Foose
(4) Jordan Harnish vs (13) Joey Lamm
(5) Alan Young vs (12) Nick Kohan
(2) Harley Wegman vs (15) Jake Morris
(7) Christopher Bouchard vs (10) Caleb Ramsey
(3) AJ Crews vs (14) Kevin Jaycox
(6) Matt Vaade vs (11) Kris Gibeau
Matchups to Watch
5 vs 12 — Young vs Kohan
Allan Young brings experience into this one as a former series champion and two-time Texas winner, with his last victory here coming in 2023. Kohan, however, enters as the only driver this season with two wins, making this a dangerous 12 seed with real upside.
8 vs 9 — Strunk vs Foose
Ryan Strunk’s Texas experience is limited, with just one start that ended in an accident last season. Jim Foose, on the other hand, has been a steady presence at this track. A consistent front-runner and former champion, Foose knows exactly what it takes to win in a head-to-head format.
6 vs 11 — Vaade vs Gibeau
Kris Gibeau opened the season on a tear with four straight top-three finishes, including a win at Atlanta, but has cooled off in recent weeks without a top-10 finish in the last four races. Vaade has been consistent all season and is known for aggressive strategy calls, making this a tough matchup in a one-race elimination format.
4 vs 13 — Harnish vs Lamm
Jordan Harnish brings both speed and recent success, including a win this season and a third-place finish at Texas last year. Joey Lamm showed his pace at this track with a pole-winning run in 2025, and if he finds that speed again, this could be one of the most competitive matchups in the bracket.
The Stage Is Set
