(CLEVELAND, OH) The American Sim Racing Series and Sam Maxwell Customs have extended and expanded their partnership beginning with the 2019 season with the formation of the Sam Maxwell Customs Premier Series.
The Sam Maxwell Customs Premier Series will consist of a combined championship between the ASRS Cup Series and Sam Maxwell Customs Truck Series, which will continue series entitlement in 2019 for the third season. In all 41 races will count towards the Sam Maxwell Customs Premier Series with a 31 race “regular season” followed by a 10 race elimination round Playoff. The combined use of the NASCAR Cup Series cars and NASCAR Trucks rewards versatility and adaptability as drivers will compete on 26 different tracks including 15 tracks that host both series.
Atlanta Motor Speedway kicks off the 2019 Sam Maxwell Customs Premier Series on with the Cup Series January 8th. The Playoffs begin on September 10th at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with the Sam Maxwell Customs Truck Series while the season concludes on November 12 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
The 10 race Playoff format will feature 10 drivers competing over 10 races. After each three race elimination round, two drivers will be eliminated from the Playoff until the final round of four drivers at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Over $1,000 in prizes are available for drivers competing in the 2019, including two Sam Maxwell Customs steering wheels. One will go to Sam Maxwell Customs Premier Series Champion while the other will go to a random drawing for qualifying drivers.
The Sam Maxwell Customs Premier Series will focus on clean racing and will reward drivers who race without incident with bonus points at each event and penalty points for incident points. Additional penalties will be issued for strikes.
Both the Cup Series and Sam Maxwell Customs Truck Series will continue to contest separate championships along with the combined championship. The Sam Maxwell Customs Premier Series will be officially sanctioned by the American E-Sports Association.
