(CLEVELAND, OH) The recent additions of Circuit of the Americas and Road America to the Hacksaw PCs Premier Cup Series along with the tentative Grand National event at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course won’t be the only new road courses on the 2021 ASRS schedule.
ASRS is going road racing and in a pretty big way during the 20th season of the esteemed Esports racing league. For the first time ever, an all road course series will compete for a championship under the ASRS banner as the ASRS Sports Car Challenge launches.
The ASRS Sports Car Challenge will consist of a North American based sports car series racing on road and street courses with the GTE class of cars.
“This is twenty years in the making for ASRS” said Jim Foose. “We’ve always wanted to do more racing on road courses and diversify our league from just stock cars on ovals and this opportunity will finally make bring that to life in 2021”.
The Sports Car Challenge will feature six races with the option for additional events to be added. Races will take place at many of the tracks featured in the Hacksaw PCs Premier Cup Series and Grand National Series, albeit different configurations may be used. Atleast one event will be contested on a track exclusive to the Sports Car Challenge.
Road courses currently hosting ASRS events include; Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval, Circuit of the Americas, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Mid Ohio Sports Car Course, Road America, Sonoma Raceway and Watkins Glen International.
