Wednesday Night’s the new home of Dirt Slinging action at ASRS. Fresh off opening night last week and the debut of the Dirt Sprint Cars from Volusia last week it was time for a couple other classes to take the sage this week. The dirt schedule sees alternating classes every other week. So this week it was the debut of the Dirt Stock Cars along with the Dirt Super Late Models.
For the 5 race schedule it would be Twitchy Race Reports coming on board to be the Stock Car title sponsor for the series. With the Super Late Models being sponsored by Ruby Sanctum Electronics. The dirt racing has provided different sponsorship options for ASRS as different companies have come on board to bring great racing action to ASRS.
To start the evening’s events would be the Dirt Stock Cars which would be running a 35 lap feature event. There would be 16 drivers showing up for the opening race for the TRR Stock Cars. Sitting on the pole would be Josh Walker with Brad Cross 2nd, Hunter Potson 3rd, John Kennedy 4th, and Justin Kruithof rounding out the top 5. The race saw Brad Cross jump the lead and never look back as Cross would pick up where he left off last week where he won one of the Sprint Car twin races. This was Brad’s 6th career ASRS victory. Followed by Cross would be fellow teammate Josh Walker 2nd, 3rd went to teammate Brandon Boyd making it an all Maxxed Out Motorsports top 3, Brian Chrismon was 4th, and Jason Stewart rounded out the top 5.
The Super Late Models saw 17 drivers make the trip to Volusia Speedway to do battle. In qualifying it would be Brad Cross grabbing the pole looking for the evening’s sweep with Justin Kruithof 2nd, Brandon Boyd 3rd, Josh Walker 4th, and Kris Titus 5th. It would be a very caution filled event that in the end would see Brandon Boyd cruise to his first career ASRS victory. Behind Boyd would be Walker 2nd, Kruithof 3rd, Cross who led early but ran into trouble off a restart ended up 4th, and Jim Foose rounded out the top 5.
Be sure to check back next Wednesday as the Sprint Cars will be back in action for week #2 which will again feature twin race events.
