It would see 38 drivers make the trip to try and qualify for the 36 Truck 100 lap event tonight. After qualifying was done it was Travis McQuistion sitting on the pole with Devin Serra 2nd, Jared Mogard 3rd, Dominic Lee 4th and Alex Giese rounding out the top 5. The event saw 6 yellow flag periods for 29 laps and saw 4 different race leaders.

The race saw Travis McQuistion take his #93 to the race lead for the early parts of the event. But once the leaders made their first pit stops around lap 23 it would shake up the leaders. McQuistion and Mogard who had pressured the #93 for the first 20 some laps would restart 7th and 8th respectively after some drivers chose to stay out or take only two tires on pit stops. Mogard would be successful in getting back to the front as Travis McQuistion would find trouble that sent his truck into the inside wall off turn 2 ending his event early. Lee Staples would take over the lead from them pit stops and would hang on to it for a few laps before Jake Douglas would take his #49 to the top spot off a restart. Douglas would stay out front for the next 62 laps of the event.

The race would see a green flag run to the end that would provide for an excellent finish to decide the winner between Jake Douglas and Jared Mogard. They have had their fair share of run-ins in prior events so it was shaping up to be a good finish for sure. That would be the case as Mogard would pressure Douglas causing Douglas to get into the wall coming off of turn 4. Mogard would briefly take the lead until they to go turn 1 where Douglas would get back by to the lead after Mogard would over drive turn 1. The end result would be with roughly 15 laps to go Mogard would have to re-rundown Douglas and try and get by Douglas again. Mogard would do both of them as once he caught Douglas coming to 6 laps to go Douglas again would get into the wall off turn 4 giving Mogard the opening he would be looking for. Mogard would lead only 6 laps and cruise on to his 18th Career ASRS victory and his 2nd on the 2017 Sam Maxwell Customs Truck Series season.

We caught up with Mogard who had this to say “It feels great to get the win. Had a great race with Douglas there and were able to come out on top. Just got to thank all my sponsors Captain Morgan, Mountain Dew, Twitchy Race Reports, and lastly my team Maxxed Out Motorsports. We’ve been rolling the last 3 weeks with now the 2nd win and Brad Cross becoming the new point leader. Just got to keep it rolling to the end of the season.”
