(MADISON, IL) After a week off the Sam Maxwell Customs Truck Series was ready to get back in action from the Gateway Motorsports Park for an 80 lap event which seen 39 drivers show up for the 36 Truck starting field. Following Qualifying it would see Jake Douglas sit on the pole with Ty Hester 2nd, Sam Maxwell 3rd, Michael Atkins Jr. 4th, and Jonathan Holstein 5th. There would only be 2 yellow flag periods for 8 laps with 7 different leaders throughout the event.

The first yellow flew on the opening lap when a truck got into the wall and after it appeared they got going there would be another wreck halfway down the back stretch. The race would go back green and would stay green all the way to lap 63 before the yellow flew again.

2017-06-13 22-28-35_0During the long green run it would see Jake Douglas lose control of his truck while leading spinning into the infield causing him to go multiple laps down. That would give Michael Atkins the lead for 18 laps before Mogard would cruise from his 11th starting spot to take the lead for the next 30 laps before the yellow came out.

The final 15 laps went green with no yellow and at the end it would see Travis McQuistion pick up his first career ASRS Win followed by Devin Serra 2nd, Mitchell Brown 3rd, Allan Young 4th, and Sam Maxwell 5th.

The Point Standings after Race #10 with just 8 races remaining before the top 8 in points are locked into the playoffs look like this Jim Foose holds the top spot still with Brad Cross 2nd, Sam Maxwell 3rd, Jason Stewart 4th, Allan Young 5th, Jonathan Holstein 6th, Devin Serra went from 9th to 7th to move into a playoff spot, and Mitchell Brown also gained 2 spots to go from 10th to the 8th and final playoff spot.

Next week the Truck Series heads to the Iowa Speedway for the Sam Maxwell Customs 100 a 100 lap event which like every SMC Truck Series event will be broadcasted live on Off Camber TV.
