Debaro Doubles Down for Charlotte Win!

When the Tweedcast Truck Series rolled into Charlotte for the Tweedcast 125, the talk was about Nick Kohan’s checkers or wreckers season that has seen him win three races but sit outside the top 10 in the championship standings. AJ Crews won the pole award and quickly became the man to beat early on.

For much of the first 30 laps the racing looked like it was from Atlanta or Daytona as drivers raced side by side, sometimes three and four wide, but a caution just before half-way broke up that momentum. Crews, Anthony Debaro, and Christopher Bouchard took turns leading in the final 50 laps along with Harley Wegman who led three laps during a split pit strategy with about 20 laps to go.

When the checkered flag flew, it was Anthony Debaro picking up the victory, Andy Warren (2nd), Allan Young (3rd), AJ Crews (4th) and Christopher Bouchard (5th) completing the top five finishers.

Andy Warren holds a 35 point lead over Harley Wegman following Charlotte. The Tweedcast Truck Series takes a week off next week before returning at Nashville Superspeedway for 125 miles of grueling action on the concrete.
