Warren Takes Homestead Win and Championship, Becomes Only Second Multi-Time Truck Series Champion In ASR History!
The Championship Round of the 2024 Tweedcast Truck Series surpassed expectations as three drivers faced off in an essential dead heat. Andy Warren struck first, winning the Speedway Action Images Pole and leading the field to the green, AJ Crews took the lead from Warren but had to fend off challenges from 2022 Champion Allan Young who led just a single lap. A round of green flag pit stops near the half-way point shook up the standings for a handful of laps, but it was Crews and Warren battling for the lead when the pit stops were complete, Young was mired back just outside the top five. A caution changed the complexion of the race with Warren leading Crews and Young battling through traffic. A second caution set up a three-lap dash for the championship with Warren and Crews on the front row and Young restarting fourth. Warren jumped to the lead, fought off Crews and retook the lead in the closing laps. When the checkered flag flew it was Andy Warren scoring the win with AJ Crews (2nd), Allan Young (3rd), Ryan Strunk (4th) and Steve Whitmore (5th) completing the top five.
Warren was able to win his second consecutive ASR Tweedcast Truck Series Championship by 6 points over Allan Young, AJ Crews finished third -9 points. Jim Foose (-49) and Steve Whitmore (-81) completed the top five in the final standings.
