(CLEVELAND, OH) A slight rebrand of the former American Sim Racing Series into American Sim Racing has begun as ASR prepares for it’s 20th Anniversary Season in 2022.

While the name change reflects a simplification of naming for the league, removing the redundant “Series” from branding, the change reflects a new direction of ASR for the 20th Anniversary Season.  A completely refreshed schedule including the continuation of the Open Wheel Series launched in late 2021 and returning stock car favorites; the ASR Truck Series and ASR Grand National Series and the addition of a fresh Super Late Model event in “The Million” to join the Original Online All American 400, which will be run for the 25th consecutive season in  2022.

“We’ve learned from many mistakes in the past and after 20 years I really believe we have the best package out there for drivers looking to have fun” said ASRS Founder Jim Foose.  “I’ve made some missteps over the years and am ready to get the new season started in January, I’ve put 20 years into this and really want to make this league as successful as possible”.

The changes are more than just cosmetic as ASR moves to a more “community based” league format, utilizing Discord and Facebook Groups to share information with drivers and create various places for drivers to “hang out” when they aren’t on track together.  We’ve also changed out delivery format for driver’s meetings for 2022 now sharing a document in our weekly “Race Information” posts instead of taking valuable track time away from our drivers at the end of practice and repeating the same script weekly.  The 2022 schedules were a result of discussions with drivers about what they wanted to see on the schedule, in fact the Open Wheel Series Schedule features many changes from the initial proposal at drivers’ request including a date at the Daytona road course.
