TrackStars Racing is now American Sim Racing Series Open Wheel, bringing Open Wheel Wednesday to you this fall!

The ASRS “Open Wheel Series” will feature the Dallara IR-18 racing with fixed setups, realistic weather and tire limits on a schedule that will feature popular open wheel oval tracks and a select few road courses.

While ASRS will govern the series and host the series on AmericanSimRacing.com, the “Open Wheel Series” will feature a uniquely open wheel style rulebook and will be part of the revamped ASRS.

The schedule will be announced soon and is expected to feature 10 or 11 events with an additional exhibition race to close out the 2021 calendar year.

“We’ve tried to get our foot in the door previously with the open wheel crowd and have failed to gain traction in this market previously” said ASRS President Jim Foose. “What’s different this time is we aren’t going to run this the same way as our stock car series but rather take a full-on open wheel approach in all aspects of the series including on track rules, scheduling and promotion“.

The “Open Wheel Series” will also participate in the D.R.I.V.E. Initiative which focuses on Diversity, Respect, Inclusion, Value and Equality.
