(CLEVELAND, OH) Officials with the American Sim Racing Series announced today that the field size in the Hacksaw PC’s Premier Cup Series will grow by four cars to 40 cars.
“40 is the right number for our league, we have a solid field that is going to be very competitive in 2020 and bumping up the field size the right setup for us. With up to 20 spots reserved for the top drivers in the championship standings each week, it’s best to have the other half available for drivers to qualify on time into” said ASRS President Jim Foose. “Each year we look for ways to improve the competition and feel now is the right time to do this for our drivers. With Premier Series invites lingering near 70, it’s only fair to give more drivers a chance to qualify for our races. It’s a real positive for the league, each year we set a goal for the number of Premier Series Licenses and we met that goal a short time ago.”
The 40 car staring field will alter the qualifying format for the Glass Door Brewing 250 at Daytona, an updated qualifying race format will be released over the weekend.
