Darlington Raceway will host the third race of the season on February 26th, replacing New Hampshire Motor Speedway.  Darlington last hosted the trucks in 2015 and rejoined ASRS in 2017 with an Xfinity Series race, the Twitchy Race Reports Premier Cup Series returned in 2018.

Other than Darlington replacing New Hampshire, the schedule remains mostly the same except minor date shifting as Texas Motor Speedway moves from late October to late March and pushes back the Auto Club event to April.

The Playoffs receive a minor realignment as the Texas event leaves the playoffs moving Bristol into the final seven races.  With Bristol now opening the playoffs, Michigan will serve as the regular season cut-off. The Playoffs will again utilize the 12 car field with four drivers being eliminated after the third event and again after the sixth event of the Playoffs.

“We really took a hard look at our scheduling process for 2019 and felt that over the past three years that New Hampshire gave us lackluster events and with only 25 dates to fill, we felt it was not among the best tracks to fill our schedule moving forward” ASRS President Jim Foose said of the move to bring Darlington back to the SMC Truck Series.  “Darlington is one of those tracks that we’ve always had a lot of support for bringing back and the timing worked out well for us to do that, the Sam Maxwell Customs Truck Series prides itself on being the tough and rugged series with a diverse mix of tracks including the dirt track at Eldora, Canadian Tire road course and a host of ovals that make each week something new and exciting.  Darlington’s ‘Too Tough to Tame’ nickname really fits the trucks well, it’s a shame the folks in Daytona Beach can’t see the value in that for their series” Foose continued.
