Twitchy Race Reports Triple Crown Returns for 2018!

(CLEVELAND, OH) The Twitchy Race Reports Triple Crown is returning to ASRS for 2018 with a new car and a revamped schedule for the second running of the three race series.
The UMP Modifieds will take center stage in 2018 as the Triple Crown Series car, replacing the late model. Fresh off a full season of racing as part of the Home Tracks Series, the modifieds have become a favorite with the competitors of the American Sim Racing Series providing close action packed races in their debut season.
The schedule will get a shake up as the 2017 host tracks will not see action. Knoxville Raceway will kick off the Triple Crown before the tour travels to Limaland Motorsports Park and Charlotte Motor Speedway’s Dirt Track will host the final event.
“The switch to modifieds for these races is one that we feel is positive among our members and one that will benefit the races overall. They race so close and we’ve seen some great action in the Home Tracks Series that it would be a sin not to run modifieds for such a big event” ASRS President Jim Foose stated. “Last year we ran these events with heat races without iRacing officially supporting heat racing and it went well but now that we have official support for that the format should be even better”.
April 5 Knoxville Raceway (50 Laps)
April 12 Limaland Motorsports Park (50 Laps)
April 19 Charlotte Motor Speedway Dirt Track (50 Laps)
Twitchy Race Reports will once again put up the $100 purse and just like last year each race will pay $25 to win, with a $25 bonus available if a driver sweeps all three races. If no driver sweeps the Triple Crown, the driver who accumulates the most points will pocket that $25. The purse amount could rise as more sponsors are announced.
Points will be awarded for heat races and the 50 lap main events.
