(CLEVELAND, OH) With the 2017 season coming to an end here at ASRS we got our sights set on the 2018 season. Coming off what was a successful 20th Annual All American 400 and with a big block buster #DecemberDirtWeek coming it’s only fitting to make even more news. It’s already been announced that in 2018 the Premier Cup Series featuring the Monster Energy Cup Cars on iRacing will take the place of the Xfinity Cars on Tuesday Night’s in 2018. The Cup Series will run on the Tuesdays in which the SMC Truck Series is off. The 16-race season which has already drawn lots of attention and excitement is sure to draw more.
On behalf of Jim Foose and ASRS we are happy to announce that Twitchy Race Reports has come on board to be the title sponsor of the Premier Cup Series.
We caught up with founder and owner of TRR Jared Mogard. Jared had this to say about being the title sponsor in 2018, “I’m happy to come on board and be a bigger part of what Jim has put together at ASRS. TRR became a sponsor when iRacing released its dirt stuff being the title sponsor of the Twitchy Race Reports Triple Crown Late Model series. We followed that up with sponsoring the Championship in the Dirt Street Stocks, and recently announced TRR will again be a part of the big dirt race coming up in December. So, it was only fitting to take it a step further and become a title sponsor and the Cup Series seemed to be the perfect place to do just that. ASRS has one of if not the best racers in it with tight, hard, and competitive racing which is what basically sealed the deal to take it a step further and do something big. I look forward to the Cup Series and seeing who will be the 2018 Twitchy Race Reports Premier Cup Series Champion.”
ASRS President Jim Foose stated “We put many hours into making improvements to our league and looking at what the next step would be, by mid-season we gained traction on the idea of going #Back2Cup and we started work on building what was the Xfinity Series in 2017 into the Premier Cup Series. We had obligations to another league that ran “Cup Series” cars and didn’t want to step on toes or break our agreement with them, so the goal was set to do this in 2018 and Jared came to me in the early stages and offered his assistance and support. League members were polled on tracks, a schedule was released and revised again when we polled league members in September regarding a particular track that had made the early cut but didn’t put on an entertaining race in the Sam Maxwell Customs Truck Series, so that changed. It’s been a total team effort getting this going and I’m really excited about the first green flag of 2018 being the debut of #Back2Cup and the ASRS Twitchy Race Reports Premier Cup Series!”
The TRR Premier Cup Series is scheduled to kick off its 16-race season January 9th. If you want to get in on the action be sure to check out americansimracing.com to get into the league and take part in what is already shaping up to be a bigger and better 2018 season at ASRS!!!!
