Justin Blackdeer has owned the ASRS Super Late Model Series through the first half of the season. He came into the race leading second place, Jim Foose, by 23 points. Jonathan Holstein, Allan Young and Jared Mogard also sat in the top 5 of the points standings just begging for a chance to catch the lightening fast Blackdeer. That dream would hit an early roadblock when Blackdeer unloaded with speed, showing second fastest in practice to open the night. Justin Blackeer would take that speed and convert it into his third pole on the young season. Scott Smith qualified 2nd, Jim Foose was 3rd, Jordan Harnish 4th and Pete Baskins rounded out the top 5.

However, Blackdeer would not put on his usual dominating performance. Because pit strategy would play a role in this race for the first time all year, Blackdeer was not able to maintain his lead for long. The race saw an unusually high number of leaders as five drivers led laps in the race due to the varying pit strategies. Travis Wright led 58 laps, the most of anyone on the night. Some major issues crept up for points contenders on the night.

3rd in points Jonathan Holstein would be involved in three incidents, one of which saw him turn Michael Atkins into the wall in retaliation for a previous incident. 2nd in points Jim Foose would be caught up in a major wreck that effectively ended the race under caution. Justin Blackdeer did not run well on the night but he seems to have everything working for him this year, including luck. He almost spun the car twice, resulting in two amazing saves, but fell through the field multiple times. Even through the adversity, the driver would finish an amazing 5th.

Jared Mogard won the event after an early penalty sent him to the end of the line. Most laps leading driver Travis Wright would end up 2nd, Jacob Cochran riding momentum of his own finished 3rd and Tim Knott finished 4th. Blackdeer now leads Foose by 33 points followed by Jared Mogard in 3rd, Allan Young in 4th, and Jonathan Holstein rounds out the top 5 sitting 52 points out. The series rolls into New Smyrna next week. A lot of unanswered questions follow the series there, better tune in!
