(Kenly, NC) Jared Mogard has been on a hot streak in the Skeeber Flob’s Kettle Corn Pro Series. After winning the season opener at Phoenix, Mogard took the Iowa race off to enjoy family time. The week off didn’t slow Mogard at all.
Ty Hester led the field to the green flag with Zac Bozanich to his outside. Those two drivers swapped the lead several times in the race’s first 80 or so laps before a crash ended Bozanich’s evening. It was Jim Foose who took the lead on a rough restart that saw the top four cars go four wide into turn one. Hester dropped to second behind Foose before spinning Foose’s #42 car out of the lead. THe ensuing crash ended Foose’s race along with Bozanich and left much of the field with damage.
The final 50 laps of the 150 lap race were much cleaner, with Mogard and Hester going head to head for the lead, Brandon Smith joined in the fun in his #92.
Mogard cruised to victory over Hester, Danny Rodgers was third, followed by Smith and Allan Young.
Michael Atkins, Jr. leads the championship, in a three way tie for the lead with Allan Young and Shawn Musick as the Skeeber Flob’s Kettle Corn Pro Series heads to Rockingham Speedway.
