(PENSACOLA, FL) The Super Late Model Tour roared into Pensacola, Florida’s Five Flags Speedway for the third round in the Championship Final Four.
Justin Blackdeer led the field the green flag for the 100 lap main event. Blackdeer led the race’s first 40 laps before handing the lead to Ben Nile. Nile led until the race’s first caution on lap 54 as Lee Staples was sent spinning after contact from Justin Fuller. Championship leader Jim Foose and current runner-up Matt Vaade received damage in the incident. The field hit pit road, except for Vaade, who remained on the track to gain a point for leading a lap.
Vaade surrendered the lead two laps later as his #8 pitted for service and Nile retook the lead in the #72. Nile never looked back, leading the final 42 laps to take his second win of 2016. Jared Mogard was second, followed by Justin Blackdeer in third, Michael Atkins, Jr. in fourth and Andrew McCall in fifth.
Foose expanded his championship lead by two points, now leading Vaade by four points as the Super Late Model Tour heads to the Championship Final 4 Finale at Richmond International Raceway on November 2nd.
