(KENLY, NC) The second round of the ASRS Super Late Model Tour Final Four Championship Series headed to the high banks of Southern National Motorsports Park.
Ricky LaDuke and Justin Blackdeer led the field to the green flag, but it was LaDuke jumping to the lead in his #96. The 96 became a mainstay at the front of the field as Laduke led 99 of 100 laps at the .400 mile high banked speedway.
Ty Hester was the only other driver to lead a lap and did so on a botched restart that saw the #36 touch the start/finish line just before LaDuke’s #96.
Five cautions slowed the pace, but the race much of the second half under the green flag as LaDuke stretched his lead out. Justin Blackdeer moved into second near the end passing eventual third place finisher Jim Foose, Ernest Smith, Jr. was fourth while Rex Hoyle rounded out the top five.
Jim Foose took the championship lead away from Matt Vaade, the first time the points lead has changed all season, and now leads by two points over Vaade as the Super Late Model Tour heads to Five Flags Speedway. Foose and Vaade had a spirited battle in May at the Florida half mile, a race that Foose won.
