(LANGLEY, VA) The ASRS Super Late Model Tour ended a three year hiatus from Virginia’s Langley Speedway with not one, but two races in the same night, as the Twin 75 format moved to the .395 mile oval.
A new twist was added to the race format, as drivers were not permitted to pit for tires during each 75 lap event.
Matt Vaade played his strategy well in the first race, run as the sun was setting on the nearly flat track. Vaade led all 75 laps to win the first race, Justin Blackdeer was second followed by Josh Hart, Rex Hoyle and Chandler Hoyle rounding out the top five.
Prior to the second race, the led lap finishers were inverted putting newcomer David Phillips on the pole with Ben Nile alongside. Phillips crashed on the start after contact from Jim Foose sent his #97 spinning. Nile would lead the first 28 laps, but Josh Hart took the lead with 44 to go and never looked back to score his second Super Late Model Tour win in three starts, Jim Foose was second followed by Blackdeer, Rex Hoyle and Nile rounded out the top five.
Vaade leads the championship by 17 points as the tour heads to Oxford Plains Speedway July 27th.
