Allan Young Saves Just Enough to Win at Five Flags!
Five Flags Speedway hosted the ASR All American Series penultimate round and put on one of the most exciting races of the season to date!
Chris Nienow led the field to the green flag after winning the Speedway Action Images Quick Time Pole Award and led the race’s first handful of laps before Matt Vaade took over the top spot. The lone caution came out just 17 laps into the race for contact between Ryan Strunk and Vaade that sent Vaade spinning from the lead, handing the lead back to Chris Nienow. With 42 laps to go Allan Young rocketed past Nienow for the lead and never looked back, saving just enough tire to make it to the checkered flag. Kenny Trouten (2nd), Andy Warren (3rd), Marc Meyers (4th) and Matt Vaade (5th) completed the top five in the Snowman Derby!
Next Wednesday the All American Series hosts the first season finale at Southern National Motorsports Park.
