2018-02-07 22-09-06_0

The race only had 2 quick yellow periods and when the checkers flew it was DJ Kilanowski leading all 30 laps of the event enroute to his 3rd career ASRS Victory. DJ has enjoyed some very early and consistent success with ASRS in his short time with the league all coming on the Dirt. Following DJ was Brad Cross 2nd, Jason Stewart 3rd, Brandon Boyd went from his 10th starting spot to finish 4th, and Steve Ritter would round out the top 5. As for the point standings things get a bit more interesting with just 2 races left as John Kennedy maintains the point lead. However, it’s a small point lead with DJ Kilanowski sitting 2nd in the standings just 3 points out of the lead following this win, 3rd in the points is Jason Stewart who moved up 3 spots, Jim Foose sits 4th in points, and Jared Mogard rounds out the top 5 in the standings.

Next week the Home Tracks Series is OFF due to Valentine’s Day. But be sure to stay in touch next Wednesday February 21st as the Home Tracks Series is back in action from the Knoxville Raceway. Will the Maxxed Out domination in the Killer Focus Modifieds continue? Can they win the entire mini-series as a team? For the Driven Designz Sprint Cars, can Kennedy hang on to the point lead or will Dirt ringer DJ Kilanowski steal the point title? These questions and more to be answered in 2 weeks!!!!!

Cross & Ward Take Home Track Wins

2018-01-10 22-36-41_0

(DE LEON SPRINGS, FL) The debut of the newly christened ASRS Home Tracks Series, a culmination of all short track racing at ASRS, came to the dirt track in Volusia County, FL.

2018-01-10 21-30-28_0

The Modifieds were up first and it was Brad Cross schooling the field of 19 drivers.  Brad Cross led the field to the green flag with Jared Mogard along side, but things didnt stay that way for long.  Mogard had trouble on the start and caused a stack up creating a quick caution.  Six cautions slowed the pace of the 40 lap race, Cross would come out the winner with John Kennedy second followed by Chad Chambers, Steve Ritter and Jeff Ward rounding out the top five.

2018-01-10 22-30-42_0

The Driven Designz Sprint Car Series was up next, featuring the 410 winged Sprint Cars.  Brad Cross again paced the field, but retired from the event after 11 laps and a trip outside of the raceway.  Jeff Ward inherited the lead and never looked back for the final 29 laps.  Ward, a standout driver in the upper series of ASRS in 2014 and 2015 returned to action this season and has made his presence known.  Jed Barton was second followed by Steve Rutter, Tim Knott and John Kennedy rounded out the top five.

2018-01-10 21-32-07_0

The championship standings look much like the race results in both series, however a new challenge this year is that all Home Tracks Series events count for points for an overall Home Tracks Series Champion.

Next up for the Home Tracks Series; the inaugural trip to the famed Knoxville Raceway.  Both the Modifieds and Driven Designz Sprint Car Series will be on track on January 17th.

“410 sprints have become a favorite of mine when I attend dirt races, the action is second to none as these daredevils defy all odds while wheeling these overpowered, under weight winged open wheel machines inches away from other cars, walls and the ever changing cushion, so this is a dream of mine to run 410 sprints on dirt” Jim Foose, ASRS President stated.  “Not only is this a perfect racing series for ASRS, its a great opportunity to spotlight Driven Designz and what we are doing over there merging two of my ventures together to promote something I believe in” Foose continued.

2017-07-12 21-14-25_0

The ASRS Driven Designz Sprint Car Series kicks off Wednesday, February 10th and will run through February 28th, racing seven events over the course of those eight weeks as part of the ASRS Home Tracks Series: Dirt Racing Series.  The series will be off February 14th, Valentine’s Day.

2017-06-14 22-14-26_0

The ASRS Home Tracks Series is a culmination of all short track championship series including the ASRS Dirt Series, ASRS Super Late Model Tour and ASRS Modified Tour.  Each series will have it’s own champion, while a Home Tracks Champion will be crowned at the conclusion of the 2018 season.  The ASRS Home Tracks Series features different types of short track racing and is intended to crown a “well rounded” short track champion.

Mogard Crowned Inaugural December Dirt Week Champion

2017-12-14 21-03-18_0

Twitchy Race Reports

(BRASELTON, GA) Who races in December? Well ASRS does, for the first time December Dirt Week kicked off Tuesday night. The 3-day miniseries saw 7 different classes of cars run with drivers combining their best 6 of 7 races to determine who would be crowned the first ever December Dirt Week Champion. A point system that made finishing inside the top 10 and winning races even more important made for some great racing action throughout the 3 nights of racing.

2017-12-12 21-03-40_0

First on the track was the Dirt Legends taking to the track first. 26 drivers unloaded their Legends to do battle. Following qualifying it was Brad Cross grabbing the pole, Justin Kruithof 2nd, Jared Mogard 3rd, Tim Berner 4th, and Mitch Brown rounded out the top 5. The first event saw a bit of a rough start and half of the race was run under caution flag conditions.

2017-12-12 21-05-17_0

However, when the checkers did fly it was Brad Cross leading all 30 laps to grab the first Trophy of Dirt Week, Jared Mogard 2nd, Justin Kruithof 3rd, Zac Bozanich who returned to ASRS competition after months away wound up 4th, and Tim Berner rounded out the top 5. Brad’s win would be his 15th career ASRS victory and as many expected set the tone winning yet another Dirt event.

2017-12-12 21-45-01_0

The 410 Non-Winged Sprint Cars would be next on the schedule and with 30 drives making the call that would be 4 drivers would have to go home. Following qualifying it was Ray Farlow grabbing the pole with Brad Dyer 2nd, Brad Cross 3rd, Zac Bozanich 4th, and Justin Kruithof 5th. The caution flag was the star of the night it would appear as much like the Legends the Non-Wings would run half of their 30-lap event under caution conditions.

2017-12-12 21-45-53_0

Track conditions made it difficult as everyone was fighting for the top side of the track while some guys were trying to make the bottom work. When the checkers flew for the 2nd event of the night it was Ray Farlow cruising to the Win, Brad Cross 2nd, Brady Dyer 3rd, Justin Kruithof 4th, and Jared Mogard rounded out the top 5. Ray Farlow a non ASRS “regular” cruised to his first career ASRS victory.

2017-12-12 22-25-30_0

The final event for Night 1 would be the newly release Dirt Midgets. The midgets were just released last week on iRacing and the popularity of got them added to December Dirt Week just weeks before the event. Another full field would make the call with 29 drivers showing up. After qualifying it would be Todd LaBoube grabbing the pole with Brad Cross 2nd, John Kennedy 3rd, Daniel Deffler 4th, and Steve Ritter rounded out the top 5.

2017-12-12 22-31-34_0

The Midgets kept the theme of the night going running half of the race under yellow. These yellows made for multiple restarts and Todd Laboube who lead 25 of the 30 laps would go on to win the race. However, on a restart Laboube would get crossed up on the bottom which caused him to make contact with the inside wall thus allowing John Kennedy to pounce and grab the lead with just 5 laps remaining. Kennedy would have to withstand 1 last restart before he would cruise to Victory. Brad Dyer wound up 2nd, Tim Knott 3rd, Justin Kruithof 4th, and Jared Mogard rounded out the top 5. Zac Bozanich put on the show though going 26th to finish 6th. This would be John Kennedy’s 4th career ASRS Win.

2017-12-12 22-44-58_0

When the dust settled it was Brad Cross the point leader after Night 1 with Justin Kruithof 2nd, and Jared Mogard rounding out the top 3. Going into Night 2 everyone was hoping for more green flag racing with less yellows.

2017-12-13 21-04-38_0

The Wednesday Night program saw the Street Stocks taking to the track for a 25-lap event that would conclude with a #Run50 Super Late Model feature event. Following qualifying for the Streeters it was Justin Kruithof grabbing the pole, John Kennedy 2nd, Brad Dyer 3rd, Trevor Brownlee 4th, and Tim Knott rounded out the top 5.

2017-12-13 21-07-05_0

Unfortunately, there wasn’t much to talk about in this race as 15 of the 25 laps were ran under yellow. Not the way everyone wanted to start the evening but, when the Checkers flew it was Justin Kruithof coasting to the Win, Jared Mogard 2nd form his 9th starting spot, Zac Bozanich 3rd from 10th, Danny Rodgers 4th, and Brad Dyer rounded out the top 5. This would be Justin’s first career ASRS Victory.

2017-12-13 21-59-08_0

The Late Models concluded the action qualifying saw Trevor Brownlee grab the pole, Brad Cross 2nd, Todd LaBoube 3rd, Steve Ritter 4th, and Brad Dyer 5th. The Supers were a tad bit better as they ran just over half the race under yellow. Trevor Brownlee and Brad Cross would have a great race for the lead but following a slip up by Brownlee it would allow Cross to grab the lead.

2017-12-13 22-03-51_0

He would not look back as he would go on to win the Late Model portion of Dirt Week grabbing his 2nd on the week. Jared Mogard finished 2nd from his 7th starting spot, Kris Titus who raced with heavy hearts as his mom is battling cancer and is currently in the hospital grabbed 3rd place from his 9th starting spot, Zac Bozanich was 4th from his 14th starting spot, and Trevor Brownlee was able to rebound from his slip up to round out the top 5. As mentioned this was Brad’s 2nd win on the week and his 16th career ASRS Victory.

2017-12-13 22-02-24_0

Following Night 2 it was Jared Mogard grabbing the point lead over Brad Cross and Justin Kruithof.

2017-12-14 21-02-33_0

Thursday Night Thunder and Championship Night saw the Modifieds and the 410 Sprint Cars take to the track before crowning a champion. The Mods put on a show to kick off the evening. Qualifying saw Jared Mogard grab the pole with Brad Cross 2nd, Todd LaBoube 3rd, Brady Dyer 4th, and Justin Kruithof 5th.

2017-12-14 21-02-03_0

As mentioned the Mods would put on a show as they would go the first 17 laps green before the yellow flew. The yellow was a break for the leaders as they were just beginning to get into lap traffic before the yellow flew.

2017-12-14 21-01-50_0

When the checkers flew no one would have anything for Jared Mogard as he would cruise to victory with Brad Cross 2nd, Todd Laboube 3rd, Brad Dyer 4th, and Trevor Brownlee rounded out the top 5. This would be Mogard’s 28th career ASRS Victory.

2017-12-14 21-55-05_0

The Sprint Cars closed out the December Dirt Week and they would end the week’s action with a bang. Qualifying saw Steve Ritter grab the pole, Trevor Brownlee 2nd, Jared Mogard 3rd, Brad Dyer 4th, and Brayden Shepherd 5th. The Sprints did not disappoint as they put on a show.

2017-12-14 21-56-06_0

Lots of green flag racing saw one outstanding race for the lead and eventual win. Jared Mogard would grab the lead early and looked to be on his way to the sweep of the night. However, Brownlee had other plans as he would ride the top-shelf to grab the race lead away from Mogard.

2017-12-14 21-57-55_0

Unlike the previous 6 races there were 2 different grooves of racing action as Brownlee was committed to the top of the race track and Mogard kept working the bottom of the track. Brownlee would lead a majority of the race with Mogard grabbing the lead with roughly 15 to go. Again, it appeared as if it were time to get the broom ready for Mogard as he was the leading on the final lap. But a late race surge with 3 laps to go by Brownlee made for a last lap last corner thriller that saw Trevor Brownlee steal the win away from Mogard. Jared Mogard wound up 2nd, Brayden Shepherd 3rd, Justin Kruithof 4th, and Tim Knott rounded out the top 5.

2017-12-14 21-55-18_0

This was Trevor’s first career ASRS Victory and it came in very dramatic and exciting fashion.

2017-12-14 21-59-09_0

After 7 classes of cars, 3 nights of racing, we crowned 1 Champion and them honors went to Jared Mogard as his is your 2017 December Dirt Week presented by Ares Sportswear Champion!!! Dirt Racing Series to Kick off 2018 Short Track Schedule

ASRSDirtSprints

(CLEVELAND, OH) The ASRS Dirt Racing Series is kicking off the 2018 season, as the dust will fly beginning January 3rd.    For 2018, the 410 Sprints will be paired with the UMP Modifieds on Wednesday evenings.  The short eight week season will wrap up February 28th.

2017-09-06 21-56-42_0

Both cars will be action on the same night, with 30 Lap Feature events planned for the Sprints and 40 Lap Feature events scheduled for the Modifieds.  Heat races are not planned at the moment, but could be added to the program is participation is high.  The season will wrap up at Eldora Speedway on February 28th.

2017-08-02 22-19-19_0

“We are very excited to bring dirt racing to ASRS and our 2017 campaign was successful, we accomplished many of our original goals for this expansion, but I felt we needed to run the 410 Sprints in order to call ourselves serious dirt racers.  Those are my favorite dirt cars and pairing them with the always popular UMP Modifieds is about as good as it gets” ASRS President Jim Foose said.  “We only had eight weeks to work with for this season, and doing the alternating format we ran last summer would have severely limited our number of races for each car, so this is a compromise for me in terms of the variety in cars but the schedule is loaded with great tracks, in fact we hit every dirt track on iRacing except USA International this season, and have two dates at Eldora, Volusia and Knoxville scheduled”.
