(BRASELTON, GA) The drivers of the ASRS Super Late Model tour invaded Georgia last night for racing at Lanier Speedway. The fans were treated to a double billing as the night featured two separate main events. Each event consisted of 75 laps and featured extra urgency as the short events forced drivers to get to the front of the field faster than usual. The urgency was not an issue for the #36 of Ty Hester in race one as the driver was smooth and methodical in leading 74 laps of the 75 lap event.

Track position ruled the afternoon race as it was very hard for the drivers to complete a pass with the extremely tight quarters and slick race track. There is nothing better for track position than starting first and that is just what Hester did. Hester rode that first place start to victory lane meanwhile only surrendering the lead to Zachary Bozanich for one lap. Following Hester to the checkered flag was Allan Young, Matt Vaade, Tom Giannini and Jared Mogard.

When the sun went down, race #2 got off to another dominating performance. This time Ben Nile was the beneficiary of early track position when he put his #72 on the pole. Nile was cruising to victory while leading the first 60 laps. No one at the race track expected anyone different than Nile in victory lane.

That expectation would soon be dashed as late race contact relegated Nile to an 18th place DNF. Nile’s misfortune would prove to be Justin Blackdeer’s fortune. Blackdeer took that incident to the bank when the #51 took the lead and never looked back. Scott Smith would finish second followed by Rex Hoyle, Tim Knott and Zac Coyer. The points would receive a shake up with Blackdeer’s victory. Blackdeer now leads the standings by 6 over Rex Hoyle, Tom Giannini rode his two top 10’s to 3rd place in the standings, Holstein finds himself in 4th and Hester fell to 5th with a 21st place finish in race 2.
