(RICHMOND, VA) The Camping World Truck Series headed to the final short track race of 2016 at Richmond International Raceway, which also is the only short track in the Chase for the Championship.  After high speeds on the high banks of Talladega, the 3/4 mile track known as “Racing Perfection” provided drivers with a new challenge, short track racing.

Nick Kohan made his return to the Camping World Truck Series look flawless early on as the #21 Toyota led the field to the green flag and led 41 laps, but contact late in the going sent Kohan spinning and down the finishing order.

Jared Mogard led a race high 44 laps, and was the beneficiary of Kohan’s misfortune as he inherited the lead and the victory as the final caution flag flew.  While Mogard had a good race, many championship chasers did not.  Zack Calloway entered the race second in points but fell to fourth after having multiple issues durign the race in the #45, Jim Foose entered third and ran inside the top 10 all race before he crashed with a handful of laps to go dropping to 9th at the finish, Scott Haller had trouble in his #5 and eventually retired from the race in the closing laps.

When the dust settled, nine cautions slowed the pace as five drivers took turns leading through eight lead changes.

With Mogard sailing to victory under caution, Robby Baskins was second, followed by Sam Maxwell third , Jason Stewart was fourth and Bradley Cross in fifth.
