(LONG POND, PA) The ASRS Camping World Truck Series has been visiting Pocono Raceway since 2010, with the 2011 race being skipped, since moving the series to iRacing in 2012, the trucks at Pocono have produced “must see” racing each year.  From the four and five wide restarts to the wild and crazy passes for the lead, Pocono has become the action track for the trucks.

Pocono’s short distance (75 miles) and it’s wild restarts led to many different pit strategies.  Many of the drivers praised the format following the race for offering so many options to play out.

Jared Mogard started on the point with Mitch Brown along side.  Mogard would lead the first six laps in the #10 Chevrolet before giving way to Michael Atkins, Jr. when the #10 pitted under the race’s first caution.

Atkins would lead the field back to green before slipping in the tunnel turn, allowing Jim Foose to slip by for the lead.  Foose held the lead until lap 15 when as he was preparing to make a pit stop  he dropped to the bottom of the track and was clipped by Robby Baskins, who went three wide with Jason Stewart as the three trucks exited the tunnel turn.  The resulting crash would involve several drivers.  Stewart took the lead as a result of the melee, but several laps later his scoring transponder quit scoring laps sending the #1 to a 16th place finish.
