(RICHMOND, VA) The ASRS Xfinity Series took the Richmond International Raceway Tuesday and for the first time in recent history the race was run under the afternoon sun.  The change in time of the day changed some key characteristics of the 3/4 mile tri-oval.

Drivers struggled in practice with grip, but as the track rubbered up, it became quite racey with a drivers able to pass on the outside and run side by side.

Robby Baskins started on pole, but lost the lead in turn 1 on the first lap as he drove into the corner too hard and washed up the track, allowing Justin Vaughn and Jim Foose to slip by.  Vaughn led nine laps before giving way to Jim Foose.  Foose would lead 48 laps over two stints at the front before a late race pit stop lined the #42 up on the outside lane.  Foose was able to quickly make it back to second and was hot on the tail of the #46 of Baskins before a series of late race cautions slowed his progress.

Travis Wright started to charge to the front at the end of the race and would eventually get as high as second but it was Baskins taking the win after Foose crashed with two laps to go while running second.  Wright was second, Chad Mikosz was third with Justin Vaughn and Joe Johnson rounding out the top five.

Foose finished 12th but holds onto the championship lead in the #42 by nine points over Gene Collum as the Xfinity Series heads to Talladega next week, the first time in 2016 that the Xfinity Series will run back to back weeks.
